Strawberry - Tennessee Paint Rock Agate

The Strawberry patch is another of the original old Tennessee Paint Rock agate sites. It has produced a lot of beautiful agate. The name comes from the color and appearance of the agate. Most of the agate had a clear strawberry colored agate with very small white dendrite balls scattered through out giving it the appearance of a strawberry. Most do not have fortification in the center, but some are very special with yellow, red, and wine colored fortification. All of this Tennessee Paint Rock agate are special. Most likely a person could find agate at this site, but it is posted. A few years ago a new location close to the old dig was found, but did not produce much agate. Above the old dig site you can find the agate in the limestone matrix. This is a picture of the better Strawberry agate. I will be adding many more pictures over the next few months.
